Job Overview

Perform general engineering technician functions which includes working in test cages and job sites with up to typically 480 VAC/VDC; testing new and modified products; processing material release and engineering change notices; and support assembly and product testing.

A Day In The Life

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Create/modify prototype and production drawings
  • Create/modify drawings and quotes for ETO (Engineered to Order) fire pump controllers, HRGs (High Resistance Grounding systems), radio and crane controls and cable harnesses
  • Create/modify component selection tables
  • Verify customer POs match sales orders
  • Process engineering change notices
  • Create/modify materials, routings and BOMs in the SAP business database Test prototypes and products and record observations
  • Travel on service visits up to 10% of the time
  • Interact well with personnel in other departments
  • Other duties as assigned


What will help you thrive in this role?

Skills and Experience



  • 3 - 5 years of electro-mechanical or related experience
  • Experience with the fabrication and wiring of electrical control panels
  • Experience with common electrical test equipment and hand tools
  • Troubleshooting at the PCB level
  • Soldering experience
  • Familiar with NEC (NFPA 70)
  • Proficient with Autodesk Inventor and Autocad Electrical
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
  • Altium experience is a plus
  • SAP experience is a plus


Education



  • Associates degree in electrical/electronics engineering
  • Potential to continue education toward a bachelor's degree
