Summary of Job Duties:This 12-month research-focused position aims to advance research in risk management. The ideal candidate will have expertise in econometric methods for risk assessment and related areas. The successful applicant will work closely with faculty at the Fryar Price Risk Management Center of Excellence to develop a strong research portfolio, which involves publishing in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals and obtaining competitive external funding.

Key Responsibilities
*Conduct research in price risk management, commodity markets, crop insurance, and applied econometrics.
*Regularly publish findings in relevant academic outlets.
*Collaborate with faculty to develop and sustain a program of research.
*Seek and secure extramural funding from competitive sources.
*Work with large datasets and apply statistical programming tools (e.g., R or similar software).

Established in 2020 through the generous support of Dr. Ed and Michelle Fryar, the Fryar Price Risk Management Center of Excellence is dedicated to producing internationally recognized, stakeholder-driven research in price risk management. The Center's mission is to improve decision-making for farms and businesses, provide exceptional educational experiences for students, and foster professional growth for faculty and staff. Dr. Ed Fryar, a former professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, is the founder of Ozark Mountain Poultry, Inc.
