Purpose of Position

Support Contracts and Procurement team in drafting, evaluation, negotiation and execution of contracts and amendments for UT System-wide complex and technical procurements.

Essential Functions

  • Applies knowledge of contract administration to prioritize necessary actions and consistently applies policies and practices.
  • Manages varying sources of information and situations to accurately provide solutions.
  • Monitors and controls the flow of work through the procurement and contract systems.
  • Identifies and resolves problems that arise.
  • Assist in conducting needs assessments to determine requirements for the purchase of goods or services.
  • Delivers and develops effective communication that conveys clear understanding of the unique needs of various customers.
  • Practices high standards and gains the confidence and trust of others through honesty, confidentiality, and integrity.
  • Assists with monitoring transaction compliance (intake, milestones, deliverables, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with major course work in business administration or related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience. One year of college (30 semester hours) may be substituted for one year of the required experience on a year-for-year basis, allowing up to a maximum of 4 years substituted experience.
  • Contract Manager Certification from a professional purchasing organization. If not certified, must be certified within 18 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in preparation, administration and management of complex solicitations and contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook along with exposure to document control and/or tracking software.
Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
  • Requires occasional evening or weekend hours
  • Hybrid work environment (remote & office)
Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to a minimum of 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. Participation in TRS is mandatory.

A background check will be conducted on candidates under final consideration. The background check may include any or all of the following: criminal history check, prior employment verification, education verification, professional references check, and motor vehicle records check. Background checks are conducted by third-party vendors. Upon request form the third-party vendor, candidates under final consideration must provide the required information for the background checks to be completed.
