CNC Lathe Machinist *Shift: 1st, (5:30am-2pm)* *Pay: $22-$27/hr (Based on experience)* Job Description: Setup, program, and operate CNC and manual lathes to produce precision plastic components according to blueprints and specifications. Handle frequent part changeovers and short production runs, optimizing setup times. Make adjustments to tooling, inserts, and speeds/feeds for plastic-specific machining. Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, etc.) to ensure dimensional accuracy. Troubleshoot and correct machining issues specific to plastics, such as material deflection, melting, or surface finish. Maintain accurate documentation of setup sheets, programs, and inspection records for repeat jobs. Work closely with engineering and quality teams to improve processes and support prototype development. Conduct routine preventive maintenance and ensure work area and machines are clean and safe.
