Air Products has an immediate opportunity for a North America Turnaround Manager. This role will be best served out of our HQ location in Allentown Pennsylvania, Houston Texas or Gonzalez Louisiana, but has flexibility for other regions.

The NA TAR Manager plays a critical leadership role in supporting the execution of major maintenance activities across all sub-regions and industrial gas technologies in the US and Canada. Responsible for 80-100 employees supporting 40-50 large facilities across North America, In a typical year, the team executed 12-18 major outages across the fleet.

This position is a key leadership member of the Project Resource and Outage Support (PROS) Group reporting to the N.A. Operations Director. The PROS group is a diverse team that supports maintenance, capital projects, strategic planning, and turnaround execution. This allows our team to provide specialized services and additional capacity for operational assets. The performance measures of turnarounds include Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) performance, Reliability of the assets, Completion on schedule, and spending within budget.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Strong industrial turnaround or construction management experience of large multi discipline sites.

  • Effective and Strong leader.

  • Organized, focused, able to perform under pressure and handle multiple priorities and parallel tasks.

  • Understands quality standards as outlined by Air Products and regulatory agencies.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead turnaround organization through planning, execution and close-out of major activities.

  • The successful execution of all turnarounds in accordance with the project schedule, cost and other KPIs.

  • Maintain a strong and effective professional working relationship with all stakeholders.

  • Provide leadership to ensure prompt prioritization and coordination of all unforeseen issues at the site.

  • Support Air Products Management of Change process, recognizing plant changes and following through on all documentation and recommendations in a timely manner.

  • Provide management in all outage phases for assigned contractors, including safety, timesheet verification, field oversight, change orders, and QC verification.

  • Complete close out and documentation as required by Air Products standards and procedures.

Required Abilities and Conduct:

  • Able to achieve various State mandated certifications, TWIC, and other requirements as may be deemed necessary.

  • Prioritize "Zero is achievable" safety policy in words and actions to protect self, others, and the environment.

  • High ethical standards - unwilling to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Demonstrates positive, supportive, and cooperative behavior in interacting with co-workers, supervisors and management.

  • Maintains confidentiality of written and verbal information pertaining to Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., its staff, management and participating onsite affiliates.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required, disciplines in Science, Engineering, or Project Management are preferred.

  • 10+ years' validated experience in maintenance and/or engineering disciplines, preferably with experience in industrial outages.

  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs, ISO's, piping isometrics, fixed equipment design packages, and pipe specs.

  • Familiar with P6 Scheduling.

  • Experience/Demonstrated ability leading teams and managing people. Managing 7 direct reports.

  • Proficient in the use of computers and business software, including Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook) OneNote, SAP, Primavera P6.

  • Valid Drivers' License and good driving record required.

Work Hours / Travel Requirements:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday

  • Typical Hours: Business Hours

  • Work Model: Hybrid (office/wfh)

  • On-call/Nights/Weekends/Holidays: yes, for emergencies, be available by phone after hours, as needed.

  • Typical Travel: 30-40% (North America)
