The Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) is an 18 bed unit that provides care for patients who are recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, the placement of ventricular assist devices, and other complex procedures. We receive patients directly from the operating room and Registered Nuses (RNs) manage their needs through their intensive care phase. It is a very fast paced unit driven through team work and collaboration within a highly competent multidisciplinary team to provide the best care possible to this specialized patient population. The Lead Clinical Nurse provides guidance and direction to staff and acts in the absence of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager to oversee a clinical team during care delivery and unit operations.

Qualifications:

• BSN/MSN from an accredited nursing program required.
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
• BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
• Must have at least 3 years of acute care RN work experience preferably in CVSICU
• Ability to lead others, assist in development & implementation of procedures for the unit, use principles of conflict resolution, recommend resource utilization, and implement performance management of staff.

Salary Range: Minimum 43.93 per hour - Maximum 68.09 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
