Job Summary

Milwaukee Public Schools is actively recruiting licensed and experienced candidates for Physical Education teaching positions.

A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) teacher provides an instructional program for regular and special education students which is appropriate to their educational needs and developmental level. The educational program is offered in an equitable, multi-cultural setting and teaches all children to think deeply, critically and creatively. The teacher's work supports the MPS strategic plan.

Openings for the 2025-26 school year include (subject to change):

French Immersion / Lancaster (paired position)

Keefe

Golda Meir

River Trail

Riverside

Townsend

WCLL/Wedgewood (paired position)

Qualified applicants will be sent a notice to complete an online interview using our interview software, VidCruiter. The notice for interview will be sent via email from careers@milwaukee.k12.wi.us.

At the time of hire, the selected candidate will need to submit three (3) letters of recommendation dated within the last year and signed by the author and official transcripts conferring his/her undergraduate degree.

Qualifications

As of November 1, 2021, all MPS employees are required to be fully vaccinated. The health and safety of our staff and students is our number one priority.

All offers of employment are contingent on the candidate showing proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (currently one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine) to pass the pre-employment requirements. Individuals with medical issues or sincerely held religious beliefs that prevent them from getting the vaccine may request an accommodation from the vaccine requirement.

  • fully licensed teachers
  • Student or permit teachers, practicum students, and interns who will be fully licensed by August
  • Permit or intern teachers in need of another 1-year license with stipulations for 2024-25
  • Bachelor degreed individuals pursuing a teaching/counseling/librarian position and licensure
