Summary:

The Analyst - Property Tax position will be responsible for coordinating tax matters on properties and working with internal and external resources to manage the Company's personal property tax and real property functions including compliance, diligence/integration, planning, accounting, and some controversy. The department supports the partnership's key objectives with the highest standards of conduct without compromise. Honesty, integrity, and accountability are essential to Property Tax and our Partnership's success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Review tax payments and prepare wire and/or check requests for payment of taxes and code payments to the correct general ledger accounts.
  • Research tax issues, accounts, liens, new entities/locations.
  • Determine property tax responsibility through leases.
  • Report sold locations to third party consultants and determine final taxes/on-going taxes for personal property.
  • Work closely with third party property tax consultants.
  • Assist with the budget process.
  • Participates in on-site inspection of plants and operations.
  • Intermediate to advanced accounting skills for preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Research and respond to inquiries from taxing authorities and Management.
  • Work on special projects as needed.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:




  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related degree
  • 2+ years of related experience in the same or similar industry
  • Strong tax research and analytical skills used to apply changing tax laws.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Self-motivated; self-starter
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with SAP and TM1 is desirable.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:



  • The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant job related experience

Working Conditions:


The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.


  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
