This position is located on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It is an unaccompanied position (no family accommodations or pets). Benefits of this unique location include free housing, three meals a day and potential for overseas tax incentives.

Essential Functions
  • Use measurement standards in conjunction with U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, manufacturers, and local calibration procedures.
  • Perform tests, calibrations, verifications, and limited repairs of general purpose TMDE following standard metrology and USATA guidelines.
  • Monitor laboratory temperature and humidity.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills pertaining to methods of calibration and standards.
  • Assist with training of laboratory personnel and TMDE coordinators.
  • Conduct quality assurance audits, intermediate checks and end item inspections in accordance with U.S. Army guidance.
  • Use Army ICE, Fluke MetCal, and Northrop Grumman SureCAL automated programs to verify TMDE.
  • Use computer software to perform parts research, prepare required calibration and correction charts, and submit changes to calibration procedures.
  • Perform production control procedures as needed or assigned.
  • Comply with all applicable USATA QA audit requirements and publications specified on the USATA Form QA-3.
  • Comply with, support, and enforce all local physical security requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Current working knowledge of electronic principles, Radio Frequency, Microwave, DC & low frequency, and physical/dimensional parameters.
  • Working knowledge of calibration/metrology principles and best practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot measurement systems and electronic equipment.
  • Knowledge of calibration software programming.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office products (strong emphasis on Excel).
  • Specialization in RF/Microwave calibration, desired.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team as well as working independently.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Metrology or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience, including military training.
  • Two (2) or more years of calibration experience in a private, commercial, or military calibration laboratory.
  • Calibration certification preferred
  • Experience in the use of commercial automated calibration programs: Army ICE automated calibration software; SureCal, MET CAL, MET TEAM, LogWare III Software, and TIMMS Database Management, desired.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport
  • Capable of lifting 25 pounds unassisted.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
