JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Associate or Assistant Director is a valuable member of the Morgan Academic Center (MAC) team and will directly report to the Director of the MAC.

About the Morgan Academic Center

The Morgan Academic Center strives to provide comprehensive learning services that help all student-athletes reach their potential while achieving academic and athletic excellence.

We accomplish this mission by embracing and promoting the academic and athletic missions of the University, the Office of Undergraduate Education, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Coordinate the academic support and counseling services for assigned sports teams which involves tracking and monitoring student-athlete academic progress and eligibility,

  • Communicate student-athlete academic progress to coaching staffs, athletic administration, and MAC Director,

  • Teach one section of the student-athlete first-year seminar course,

  • Opportunity to supervise, train, and evaluate part-time wage payroll staff,

  • Meet with prospective student-athletes and families as required and

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director and Sr. Associate Director. These duties require frequent collaboration with the MAC Director, the MAC Sr. Associate Director, University staff (Admissions/Registrar/ICA Compliance), and additional MAC staff as needed.

Evening and weekend hours will be required.

Education and experience:

This position will be filled at the Supervisor or Senior Supervisor level. Minimally requires a master's degree or higher in counselor education, college student personnel, psychology, social work, education, higher education administration, or related discipline plus three years of related experience for the Supervisor level. Additional education and/or experience required for higher level jobs. Position must maintain strict adherence to NCAA and Big Ten Conference rules and regulations affecting the sport and the University.

This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $81,500.00
