Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Associate II for
NJMS- Infectious Diseases. Under the direction of the Data Operations and Management Center (
DOMC) Director and Program Manager, the Data Manager is responsible for off-site study coordination and data management oversight of protocols positioned at international sites. The Data Manager will provide study coordination of specific protocols and will develop case report forms consistent with clinical protocols and investigator input. The Data Manager sets up SOPs for data collection sites to provide data capture and performs quality assurance audits to validate data in preparation for analysis by biostatisticians.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Works with investigators and DOMC staff to develop REDCap case report forms (CRFs) consistent with the approved protocol to capture clinical and laboratory data.
- Independently writes SAS programs to maintain and manage large research databases.
- Facilitates and coordinates orientation and trains volunteers/staff on instruments administration, data-gathering software and data collection.
- Maintains and manages research databases using Access and SAS software. Works with statisticians in creating the appropriate databases from collected data for analyses.
- Monitors data quality per standard operating procedures for each protocol with minimal supervision.
- Coordinates QA/QC with international on-site staff and Rutgers Study Coordinators.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- PhD in a related science or a Master's Degree in Public Health with research database experience plus three (3) years of experience in similar activities in scientific research experience as indicated.
- Minimum of 1 year of SAS programming experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Intermediate proficiency with other statistical packages (R, MS Excel, MS Access, etc.).
- Good understanding of clinical research components - data collection, human subjects protection, quality assurance and control.
- Strong computer knowledge and graphic experience a plus.
- Excellent communication, organization y to learn and integrate other related computer applications into existing operations.
