Neurodiagnostic Technologist or Sr. Neurodiagnostic Technologist - Nights
Job Summary The Neurodiagnostic Technologist or Senior Neurodiagnostic Technologist, under general supervision will participate as an integral member of the Neurodiagnostic Services by performing routine and complex EEGs, Video EEG in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Long Term (EEG) monitoring, Evoked Potentials (EPs) and other specialized procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including nursing floors, intensive care units, operating room and other specialized locations. These tests record the electrical activity in the brain and nervous system. Accurate results provide the physician with valuable information to diagnose and treat neurological conditions/disorders such as headaches, seizures, strokes, and degenerative brain disease.
The Neurodiagnostic Technologist or Senior Neurodiagnostic Technologist will ensure electrode and technical integrity and quality of all Neurodiagnostic procedures performed. They may participate in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, in-services and staff development activities.
Note: The Neurodiagnostic Technologist or Senior Neurodiagnostic Technologist classification and salary will depend on the qualifications of the applicant.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for the Neurodiagnostic Technologist position is $60.42 - $75.28 (Hourly Rate).
The salary range for the Senior Neurodiagnostic Technologist position is $64.04 - $79.76 (Hourly Rate). - High school graduate or GED.
- Graduate from an accredited training program in Neurodiagnostics or a combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated competency in performing EEG's as well as in one or modalities such as EP, LTM, EMU etc.
Sr. Neurodiagnostic Technologist:
- Registered in one or more modalities. EEG and/or Evoked Potential Technologist (R. EEGT./R. EPT.), CLTM, CNIM.
- Graduate from an accredited training program in Neurodiagnostics is highly preferred.
- At least two years of experience as an EEG Technologist.
- Demonstrated competency in performing complex EEG's as well as in one or modalities such as EP, LTM, EMU etc.

- At least two years' experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Experience with diagnostic medical equipment.
- Possession of a high school diploma.
Both:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skill in dealing with patients, family, caregivers, physicians, and clinical staff.
- Proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel, and online communication.
- Possession of good interpersonal, time management, problem solving and self-initiation skills.
- Knowledge and practice of electrical safety relevant to Neurodiagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work variable shifts
- Demonstrates ability to be an independent, motivated self-starter
- This position requires the flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.
Preferred Qualifications Neurodiagnostic Technologist:
- One year of experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist
- Prior experience working in an academic medical center environment, working on complex cases.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Experience with computerized medical equipment
Sr. Neurodiagnostic Technologist:
- Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary health provider team.
- Prior experience working in an academic medical center environment, working on complex cases.
License/Certification Neurodiagnostic Technologist:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Sr. Neurodiagnostic Technologist:
- Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.) or Registered Evoked Potential Technologist (R.EPT) or Registered CLTM or Registered CNIM
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
