Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician tests materials before, during, and after production to measure the characteristics of materials and ensure that they conform to specifications. They are responsible for inspecting and testing the raw materials and products to make sure they meet required levels of quality. Additional responsibilities will include evaluation of returned material under a Returned Goods Authorization, disposition of final assessment, and special projects assigned by the quality manager.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Maintain Safety as number one priority
  • Follow Quality Assurance standards
  • Test material using various lab equipment
  • Evaluate returned material for defect accountability
  • Communicate regularly with production and quality management
  • Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data
  • Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
  • Collect and compile statistical quality data
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system
  • Responsible for document management systems
  • Complete any additional special assignments as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a natural science (i.e. Chemistry, Biology, etc.) preferred but not required
  • Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience a plus
  • Experience with implementation of corrective action programs
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment desirable
  • Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
  • Must be able to work in the U.S.
