Behr Process Corporation
401(k)
United States, California, Santa Ana
Nov 12, 2024

To thrive as a Maintenance Mechanic with Behr, you must have exceptional troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude. Using a variety of tools, including soldering equipment, drills, measuring devices, and various hand tools, you will diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical issues for our equipment. You must be able to read work orders and schematic drawings, be able to operate a forklift and always work safely, which includes wearing a respirator in specific areas.

Mechanics are vital to keeping all our equipment and processes operating efficiently and safely all the time. Every day your duties will include a mix of repairs and preventative maintenance as needed. Our equipment includes conveyors, liquid filling equipment such as pumps and valves, and packaging machines, including balers and taping machines. You'll do repairs when something is broken and also preventative lubrication, specialized cleaning, and any other maintenance required to keep the equipment running. At all times, you will work with your safety and that of others in mind while keeping a sense of urgency with response times.

Main Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Troubleshoot any broken equipment to determine the issue and repair or replace it correctly and safely.

  • If everything is operating smoothly, you will do maintenance on machines to prevent future downtime. This can include lubrication, specialized cleaning or replacing parts that are worn out. You'll do this on the appropriate schedule for each machine.

  • You'll also help with facility maintenance by repairing issues and providing preventative maintenance there as needed. This can include plumbing, electrical, cleaning, painting, or other skills.

  • There will be a constant juggling of priorities and tasks, and it will be up to you to be productive while keeping the facility operating as safely and efficiently as possible.

Requirements of the Role:

  • 3+ years of on-the-job mechanical experience is required (examples include knowledge in troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems and having the capability to rebuild motor drive systems, replace/rebuild a gear box, and understanding conveying systems, bearings, and drives)

  • 2+ years of on-the-job electrical experience is highly preferred (examples include reading and troubleshooting electrical schematics, ability to work on circuits ranging from 24VDC to 480VAC, troubleshooting inputs and outputs on a PLC circuit, understanding of relay logic circuits)

  • Understanding of, and capability of using, all Maintenance Shop tools (Hammer, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Drill Press, Hydraulic Press, Brench Grind, etc.)

  • Some knowledge of PLC systems is a huge plus

  • Ability to operate a forklift safely (certification is not a requirement)

  • A complete high school education whether it be a High School Diploma or GED

Here's what we offer you:

  • A $2,000 sign-on bonus for all Maintenance Mechanic positions

  • Competitive pay and quarterly bonus opportunities with a $3/hr shift differential for all shifts that start at 12PM or later

  • Accrue 15 paid days off your first year

  • 401(k) retirement plant with 4% match
