Summary:

The Scheduler assists in planning organizing implementing and evaluating the activities occurring in the nursing station by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Accurately takes bookings for outpatient services.
  • Chooses the correct test (s) and gathers all necessary patient information from the source requesting the booking.
  • Processes cancellations and rescheduling quickly and accurately.
  • Records MD orders received comparing written orders with the test booked and immediately resolves any discrepancies
  • Responds quickly to any booking problems identified by patient clinical areas and/or MD offices.
  • Completes patient pre-registrations for last minute bookings.
  • Provides accurate and timely answers to all inquiries whether from patients MD offices or other hospital areas.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Previous experience in scheduling or a related field such as registration.
  • Medical terminology knowledge.
  • Keyboard/Data entry experience.

  • Is patient when responding to questions and answers questions appropriately.
  • Responds to requests in a timely manner.
  • Handles interruptions in a skillful way.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor.
