Position Summary |
Reporting to the Fiscal Affairs Manager for the Office for Student Success and Achievement (
OSSA), the Business Manager is responsible for finance, human resources, administrative, and operational tasks for the entire office. Responsibilities include processing financial transactions, serving as the office's p-card holder, managing HR transactions, and coordinating with telephone services and
FMD. The Business Manager also performs other operational duties and collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and student employees to support
OSSA. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Experience with UGA's systems and processes including, but not limited to FMS, OneUSG Connect, UGAmart, FAME, P-card, UGAjobs, and Grad Status.
- Customer service and project management are also needed for this position.

- Standard for normal office environment including lifting up to 20lbs, bending, sitting and looking at a computer for long periods of time.

Financial Support
- Process financial transactions for OSSA in the Financial Management System, OneUSG Connect, UGAMart, and FAME.
- Review bi-weekly and monthly payroll for accuracy. Submission of hours for some student employees may be needed.
- Process payments and deposits in TouchNet.
- Post financial transactions to account spreadsheets.
- Submit tuition waivers for OSSA graduate assistants.
- Act as the office's P-card holder.
- Inform faculty and staff of financial policies and procedures including required supporting documentation.
- Maintain and update the office-wide vendor database.
- Assist with obtaining quotes for OSSA purchases.
- Perform other financial support duties as assigned.

- Supervise OSSA student employees.
- Create and upkeep positions in UGAJobs.
- Post both public and private position postings in UGAJobs.
- Process hiring proposals in UGAJobs.
- Draft offer letters for graduate assistants.
- OneUSG Connect transactions such as position funding, salary changes, summer funding, and terminations.
- Perform other HR related responsibilities as assigned.

- Attend training to stay current on UGA finance, HR, and operations policies and procedures, and share this information with faculty, staff, and students.
