Scope:
Under minimal supervision of a physician, this role is responsible for enlisting, maintaining, and assuring protocol compliance for all patients on clinical trials; collaborating with physician in determining eligibility of patients for clinical trials, and providing education to staff and patients. We are looking for a self-motivated, highly organized individual with the ability to prioritize and problem solve. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to coach and educate patients and staff regarding clinical trial requirements and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Screening of patients for protocol eligibility.
  • Present trial concepts and details to patients, participate in the informed consent process, and enroll patients on protocol.
  • Coordination of patient care in compliance with protocol requirements.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely data collection, documentation entry, and reporting.
  • In collaboration with the physician, review patients for changes in condition, adverse events, concomitant medication use, protocol compliance, response to study drug, and thoroughly document findings.
  • Maintains regulatory documents in compliance with US Oncology Research and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in monitoring and auditing activities, all required training and educational programs, and responsible for education and training of clinic staff regarding clinical research.
  • Oversee physician orders to assure protocol compliance is maintained.
  • Communicate with physician regarding dose modification, study requirements, and adverse event reporting.
  • Float to other clinics as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program
  • Current MN Licensure is Required
  • Current CPR Certification is Required
  • Five years of experience required, Oncology Experience Preferred
  • Current or Pending OCN Certification Preferred
  • This individual must be able to interpret protocols, informed consent documents, and regulatory documents.
