General Notes

This is for a position at the J.J. Pickle Research Campus in North Austin.

Purpose

The purpose of this position is to conduct seismic interpretation and analysis of salt structures in basins around the world and participate in the development of new concepts in salt tectonics.

Required Qualifications



  • PhD in related field
  • Experience in seismic interpretation
  • Experience in salt tectonics
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written publication
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral presentation in English


Preferred Qualifications



  • Petroleum industry experience
  • Experience with mobile shales
  • Demonstrated profieciency in independent research
  • Experience working in a team environment


Salary

$103,000 depending on qualifications

Work Conditions



  • May work around standard office conditions
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
  • Occasional weekend, overtime, and evening work to meet deadlines
  • Occasional travel intrastate, interstate, international
  • Occasional fieldwork as necessary
