Job Description

Multi-discipline, Multi-year Engineering Internship
General Responsibilities:
Here's your opportunity to learn about environmental, geotechnical, and materials engineering and earn money to help pay for school! Terracon's multi-year internship program is geared to help show new engineering students what consulting is all about. As you approach the end of your first year of college, you will be uncertain which discipline inspires you. As a multi-year intern at Terracon, you will be exposed to different disciplines each summer. First year interns have the opportunity to learn about construction sites and materials testing, the foundation of all the consulting we do. After your first summer, you may elect to continue your internship learning about environmental or geotechnical consulting. Students that find an affinity for a particular engineering discipline can choose to return to take a deeper dive in their second year of the internship, learning how those projects are won and managed. For select interns, we offer the opportunity to continue working on a part-time or full-time basis during the school year, as your education allows. When you graduate, Terracon offers you the opportunity to continue with the company, applying to open positions both locally and nationwide...in whatever discipline you discovered inspires you. Starting at $19.80/hour.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
* Performs sampling or testing as directed.
* Provides assistance to other field and/or laboratory personnel
* Transports equipment, specimens or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up.
* Cleans equipment, vehicles and work areas
* Assists other technicians or professional staff on routine tasks
* Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.

Requirements:
High school diploma and BS degree in progress in a science or related field (environmental, safety, engineering, chemistry, biology, geology). The ideal candidates will have more than one year remaining to complete their BS degree.
