We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Engineering to lead our efforts in process development, automation, and new product introduction.

The Director of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the engineering functions related to process development, automation, and the introduction of new products within Molex Opto-Electronics. This role requires an experienced leader with a deep understanding of optoelectronics and a track record of driving engineering excellence in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

Leadership:
* Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on process development, automation, and new product introduction.
* Provide technical guidance to our Process Development, Automation and NPI teams.
* Provide guidance in tactical problem-solving activities.
* Execute our strategic roadmap for engineering initiatives that align with the company's goals and objectives.
* Collaborate with senior management to define engineering objectives and drive initiatives to meet business targets.
* Develop and manage budget.

Process Development:

*

Work closely with local manager to oversee the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for optical transceivers.
*

Identify and resolve process-related issues and bottlenecks, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
*

Implement best practices in process engineering to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Automation:
* Work with local managers to lead efforts to integrate advanced automation technologies and system into the manufacturing process.
* Ensure on time implementation of automation systems, including system design, installation, and integration.

New Product Introduction (NPI):
* Work with the NPI manager to drive the engineering aspects of new product introduction, from concept through production ramp-up.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product management, factory management and quality assurance, to ensure successful product launches.
* Execute project plan objectives within required timelines.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

* Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering teams.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform engineering strategies.
* Implement and champion process improvements, leveraging data-driven insights to drive engineering activities.

Stakeholder Management:

* Communicate engineering goals, progress, and results to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and customers.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to support project success and alignment with business objectives.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optoelectronics, or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in the optoelectronics industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on process development, automation, and new product introduction.
* Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of optical transceivers, manufacturing processes, and automation technologies. Proven experience with NPI processes and methodologies.
* Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse engineering team. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to various audiences.
* Project Management: Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.

For this role, we anticipate paying $150,000 + per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
