The Virginia Center for Diabetes Prevention and Education (VCDPE) is seeking candidates for a Diabetes Education and Outreach Director. This position will oversee VCDPE's grants, technical assistance and training to organizations in Virginia and Nationwide that are interested in providing diabetes education and diabetes prevention evidence-based programs. Our goal is to improve the quality and accessibility of diabetes education and diabetes prevention programs through collaboration, evidence and innovation. The VCDPE Education and Outreach Director manages a variety of people and projects which result in the creation of effective educational training experiences for multiple audiences. They oversee the development, delivery, administration, and evaluation of programs and projects targeting health professionals and nontraditional learners, including community health workers and participants in community medical programs. They demonstrate mastery in their specialty area of diabetes or obesity, evidenced by an advanced degree and significant experience. Education and Outreach Directors are accountable for a sizable program portfolio, and to develop and manage offerings to ensure they fulfill the overall goal or vision of the organization.
