The Department of Student Engagement at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Engagement (Student Organizations). This key role oversees registered student organizations (RSOs), advisor outreach, Student Government Association (SGA) advising, and related administrative functions. The position also supports fraternity and sorority life, leadership programs, and departmental assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 60% - Registered Student Organizations (RSOs):
    Manage RSO registration, provide training, oversee events, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

  • 25% - SGA and Service Organizations:
    Advise the SGA and service groups like the Board of Campus Activities and Horizons Newspaper. Oversee budgeting, OctoberWest planning, and contracts.

  • 10% - Department Operations:
    Supervise student assistants, manage Eagle Life platform, and handle budgeting and conduct processes.

  • 5% - Campus Support:
    Serve on university committees, handle Clery and Title IX reporting, and assist with additional duties.

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience advising student organizations on a college campus.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced student oriented environment.
  • Ability to relate to and communicate clearly with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Experience coordinating, planning, and implementing events.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, initiative, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population and foster an inclusive community.
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends when necessary on a flex schedule

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration or similar concentration
  • 3-5 years of professional experience advising student organizations on a college campus
  • Direct experience working with student government, student programming boards, and/or student newspapers.
  • Knowledge of best practices relating to student involvement and community building.
  • Administrative experience with Campus Groups or other student organization management software systems.
  • Involvement with national or local professional student activities organizations(s).
