JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State's Office of the Physical Plant is seeking student interns for the Fall of 2024 and the Spring/Summer of 2025. OPP provides excellent facilities services for Penn State. Please review the details posted on our OPP Web Page for descriptions of the available internship opportunities in each of the departments. Positions are available in Architecture/Landscape Planning, Document Center, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities Project Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Operation Planning & Scheduling, Space Management, and Training & Development.

If interested, you must submit a cover letter and resume. In your cover letter you must indicate the specific area of interest to ensure your resume is considered. If areas of interest are not stated in your cover letter, you may not be considered for an internship position.

During the Fall/Spring semesters, interns may work up to 20 hours a week. During the summer, interns are expected to work 40 hours a week. Your work schedule, onsite location and hours per week will be discussed with you by your supervisor. The salary is $14.00/hour. Resumes and cover letters will continue to be accepted through January 31, 2025.

This job may require that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check may be required in addition to standard background checks. Some internships in this program may require US Citizenship.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
