Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $3,864 - $4,057 per month

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,864 - $6,072 per month
  • This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.
  • Positions at Fresno State are to perform their work onsite. Some positions, depending upon University needs and operations, may be eligible for remote work, one day per week, pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Chair of the Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) Department, the individual selected will join a dynamic department that is home to faculty from a variety of fields and to the LGBTQ2+ minor and the American Indian Studies (AIS) program. Thus, the position welcomes an individual excited to join the team to perform a variety of general administrative, clerical, and academic support functions, in support of the growth and wellbeing of all programs and faculty within the department. WGSS, LGBTQ+ Studies, and AIS take pride in their relationships with the broader community and seek an individual who is committed to supporting the department's outreach efforts to communities, alumni, and potential majors and minors by providing support for event planning, maintaining the program webpages, and participating in student success efforts. All employees of the university meet the mission of the department, college, and the university. Work often involves front line contacts with a variety of campus and community individuals requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills.
Key Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Work with frequent interruptions while juggling multiple assignments and accept on-going changes (operational/personnel) adjust priorities and be responsive to short notice requests and deadlines.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, students, and staff from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds and the ability to maintain a flexible collaborative manner.
  • Independently interpret and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist.
  • Draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent or GED equivalent, and five years of office equivalent training and work experience.
  • Three years of recent progressively responsible general office experience which includes full functional knowledge of and skill in standard administrative office procedures, practices and equipment; as well as the ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures.

This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
