KAB Operator Job Description

Department: Kool-Aid Burst

Position Type: Hourly

Summary: Provides on line support in the packaging function for the production of Kool-Aid Burst liquid drink.

Crucial duties and responsibilities:

Work with all departments to meet or surpass the plant's safety goals. Safety - must be on a Safety Team either as a co-leader or participant. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures; follows Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Dress Code policies. Coordinate daily and weekly maintenance work to ensure maximum equipment uptime. Starts up, operates, and shuts down packaging equipment, Automatic Collar Placer (ACP), Automatic Case packer (CP), video jet coders, tray former, film wrapper, and conveyor systems. Monitors mechanical operation of equipment, unjam machines, helps troubleshoot and notifies technician and/or Coordinator of issues; perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Supervises quality issues, performs and records checks on low fills, leakers, sleeve and case code correctness and legibility, drag seals, side seals, and bottle stability. Perform all quality control audits/sampling in the filler area; inspect for leaks, check bottle weights, sample chill tanks for bacteria, and check bottle temperatures. Communicates with Utility to ensure adequate quantities of accurate packaging supplies are on the line. Maintains good housekeeping, and performs Mini cleans, CIP`s, interdictives, product pushes and hot flushes. Provides input toward team development and participates in Green Room process improvement meetings. Records down time information in log books and down time tracking sheets. Should know filler utility's responsibilities in order to assist as needed. Know all E stops on filler and where they are as well as having knowledge of other parts and functions of the filler. Perform other duties as assigned.

This position also has accountability for QRMP standards as outlined in the Winchester Kraft Heinz QRMP accountability document.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Understand and follow company and site policies and procedures on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Hold Tags, HACCP, USDA, Foreign Objects, Safety and Security.

WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Personal Protective Equipment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to wear appropriate company-issued safety and GMP equipment, including: steel toe shoes that are also slip resistant, hearing protection, bump cap, and other personal protective equipment.
