Relationships:

Reporting to the QEHS Manager, this position works closely with other Lab Personnel (Quality and R&D) as well as the EHS Program Champions, Group and Team Performance Leads, Production Personnel, and Regulatory Compliance.

Job Role:

The primary responsibility of this role is to execute the QEHS Training plan developed by the QEHS Manager. This position works closely with the EHS Program Champions to ensure the annual requirements of the programs are completed according to the Compliance Calendar. This position will be responsible for the execution of the EHS annual training requirements. Additionally this position is responsible for providing technical support regarding the chemistry of products, adherence to quality specifications, regulatory and environmental compliance. Inclusive in the purpose is the adherence to the department's as well as the individual's personal commitment to customer satisfaction.

Primary Position Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the QEHS Manager to develop the Watertown Site's EHS annual training program.
  • Execute the EHS training program in accordance with the training plan and Watertown Site Compliance Calendar.
  • Support the execution of the EHS Training program at the Eau Claire Site.
  • Partners with the Group Performance Leader and Planning Manager to coordinate the training courses.
  • Works closely with Corporate Quality Assurance, Plant Management, Production Teams, and QA personnel at other sites.
  • Supports the compliance and maintenance of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems.
  • Perform internal audits and summarize results for management review for compliance to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
  • Provide technical support for the Production Team by performing and supporting Root Cause Analysis for deviations to raw materials, packaging components, production batches, finished goods, plant operations, or the Quality and Environmental Management System with the use of statistical data.
  • Train new lab personnel in procedures, product analysis, instrument use and maintenance.
  • Assure raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods meet specifications for conformance to quality.
  • Maintain up-to-date test methods for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Determine disposition of returned goods, obsolete product, and rework procedures.
  • Partners with the QA Team to execute the Quarterly Finished Goods Audits.
  • Coordinate and perform ATP testing to release Micro Sensitive products to comply with Hygienic Manufacturing Guidelines
  • Write and review laboratory work instructions.
  • Maintain a complete set of Raw Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field.
  • Minimum Experience required: 2-4 years of experience in a QEHS environment preferred. Education may be substituted for experience.
  • Physical Requirements: Sits for periods of up to 4 hours at a time. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds occasionally. Must be able to climb ladders and catwalks occasionally.

We're looking for our new EHS Specialist to work with the EHS Department to plan, direct, and implement Solenis' environmental health and safety programs and to ensure a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment. You will liaise with the environmental and safety regulatory agencies at the federal, state and local level, for the XX site. The position will have you respond to emergency situations when they arise and support EHS operations and staff to foster a zero-tolerance culture
