Managing plant Quality and Laboratory

  • Maintain and develop laboratory related procedures.
  • Supervise all functions related to ISO 9000 certifications.
  • Enter and maintain all Recipe Management functions within the SAP system.
  • Enter and maintain all QM functions in the SAP system.
  • Dynamically participate in all staff activities to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Supervise the daily activities of the laboratory technician.
  • Assist the production by developing rework plans for off-spec / out of date material.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
  • Adhere to all aspects of Responsible Care

Solving Product Manufacturing Problems on Existing Product Line

  • Troubleshoot quality problems on existing manufactured products
  • Monitor production process to control effective procedures
  • Monitor and/or reevaluate quality control test procedures
  • Meet with Purchasing and/or vendors concerning raw material problems and specifications
  • Review and recommend disposition on nonconforming material produced.

Solving Customer Quality Concerns

  • Manage customer complaints for the Chicopee site and coordinate with internal and external parties to address issues.
  • Manage the Root Cause Analysis program for the Chicopee site.
  • Notify Product Manager(s) concerning problems with batches which may have been shipped to customers that may result in further complaint.
  • Implement cGMP manufacturing guidelines in the membrane filtration unit.

Administration and Other

  • Supervise lab personnel and schedule and manage their laboratory activities
  • Conduct laboratory safety audits.
  • Project, monitor, and maintain budget expenses
  • Train personnel, personnel evaluations and supervise activities of the lab technician.
  • Manage & maintain all processes, procedures, and documentation to comply with ISO9001:2015 requirements.
  • Maintain the document library to ensure all documents are set up with the proper review period, proper person to review, and reviewed on time

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or other technical area
  • Minimum requirement of 5 years of laboratory and/or quality management
  • Microsoft office skills, SAP and Lotus Notes preferred
  • Ability to work with others and in all areas of the manufacturing plant
