Location: Parker Aerospace Group-DSD-Irvine, CA Job Designation

Primary responsibilities include executing schedules, facilitating job assignment, employee training, maintaining inventory of shop supplies, ordering consumable items as required and performing hands-on work as required in the Electronic Assembly area. Other responsibilities include tracking status of work-in-process, ensuring safe work practices and work areas, and maintaining good housekeeping. Will work under the direction of the Electronic Assembly Supervisor.

Job Core Responsibilities
  • Monitor assigned work in process, including First Article verification, building maintenance and general housekeeping.
  • Monitor all Assembly personnel for adherence to assembly procedures.
  • Verify that all appropriate tooling and paperwork, i.e. drawings, specifications, procedures, work orders, etc. are available at the work station.
  • Emphasize safety and cleanliness by maintaining organized work stations and verifying that appropriate safety equipment is being used properly.
  • Maintain productivity, quality and overall performance of assembly operations by completing weekly assignments as scheduled.
  • Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks.
  • Insure the timely processing of in process inspection work.
  • Immediately report to your supervisor any infractions of any safety or department/company rule or injury.
  • Report all failures to your supervisor.
  • Respond to Internal Corrective Actions Requests that relate to your assigned area of responsibility and review corrective action with your supervisor.
  • Train shop personnel as required.
  • Update supervisor of problems, parts shortages and/or discrepancies affecting production schedule.
  • Requisition shop supplies, floor stock and tools.
Job Specifications

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or GED required.
Years Experience: 1- 3 years related experience and/or training. Must understand precision electronics assembly, including: harnesses, cables, and printed wiring assemblies per Military Specifications. Bonding and conformal coating knowledge a plus.
Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations. Ability to communicate in English.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, test and operating instructions and safety procedures. Ability to prioritize workload. Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to exercise discretion. Ability to pay close attention to detail and produce high level of accuracy.
  • Must be able to operate pneumatic and electrical operating machines, hand, electric and air tools, calipers, soldering/de-soldering tools and other assorted tools/machines normally associated with an electronics manufacturing area.
  • Will be required to interface and relate well with all employees and multiple departments and levels within the Company. Position requires strong teamwork/cooperative abilities. Must be a self-starter who can work independently and as a teamplayer. Able to motivate, direct, guide and train staff.
  • Ability to frequently or constantly exert up to 20 pounds of force and occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force to move/lift objects.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $25.19/hour- $37.79/hour
