 Position Responsibilities
   Lead Project Engineer (PE) is responsible for financial reporting, including proper phasing of costs, monitoring productivity, projecting job costs, managing subcontractor contracts, and change order management.
   Subcontractor set up and coordinationLead PE is also responsible for managing Field PE(s) and ensuring their responsibilities are correctly executed, including project engineering, documentation management, accounts payable, and material tracking.
 
 The Lead PE's responsibilities will vary slightly based on project schedule and scope, but will typically involve aiding the management of:
 
 Equipment and manpower tracking and projection
 Onsite financial reporting
 Accounts receivable
 Invoice approval
 Other cost control processes
 Support the Project Manager in overseeing the Field PE's successful execution of the project engineering, documentation management, accounts payable, and material and quantity tracking processes.
 Support the Project Manager in overseeing the Administrative Assistant's successful management of the onsite payroll process.
 Monitor phasing of job costs, ensuring all costs are tracked in the correct phases.
 Monitor productivity, material tracking, subcontractor contract value, staffing, and equipment usage weekly and notify the Project Manager of variances from budget.
 Maintain staffing and equipment matrices weekly, which records all anticipated site staff and equipment, including start and end dates, weekly burn rates, and anticipated total job costs.
 Support Project Manager in the change order process by initiating client change orders, providing and storing backup in the online document control platform, entering change order breakdowns per phase in the project management software, maintaining the change order log, and following up with the client on open change order requests.
 Assist the Project Manager in ensuring pay applications are developed and submitted per the contract.
 Record the cost of all work that has been completed but not yet invoiced (accruals) monthly.
 Assist the Project Manager in developing and maintaining a risk and opportunity register, including identifying risk and opportunity events, event likelihoods, and potential financial and schedule impacts.
 Develop the Monthly Performance and Progress Report (MPPR), which includes estimating the final job costs per phase and updating and maintaining the change order log, pay applications log, risk matrix, staffing matrix, and equipment matrix.
 Maintain the equipment and staffing matrix with dates matching the current schedule and review with Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Superintendents to ensure accuracy with current construction plan.
 Submit requisitions to the corporate Procurement team to initiate vendor subcontracts and/or purchase orders.
 Manage vendors and subcontracts, including working through vendor noncompliance to ensure timely payments, receiving partial and final lien waivers, ensuring quantities received match invoicing, reviewing invoices and approving or rejecting as applicable, and executing change orders to cover our of scope work.
 Collect progress schedules from subcontractors as applicable and distribute detailed, summary path, and 3 week look ahead schedules to the project team.
 Execute duties as required to support the financial reporting process and Field PE responsibilities.

Education
   Bachelors DegreePosition Requirements
