CLA is hiring a District Administrator in our Colorado Springs office to provide client support in the areas of Special Districts, Business Improvement Districts, Authorities, and other governmental entities. The district administrator completes tasks assigned for both day to day operations for the above mentioned entities, specific projects for special districts or contract public administration support assignments, and statutory compliance functions.

Special District Compliance: Performs duties necessary to achieve statutory compliance for the above mentioned governmental entities, including creating and filing of annual reports, letters to oversight agencies, compliance with SDA and DoLA regulations, and coordination with accounting and management team to file annual budget related documents.

Client Support: Ability to prepare, compile, and distribute, with the assistance of the manager/engagement director/principal, board packets and minutes to serve regular and special board meetings. Ability to multi task and work with several clients at the same time in an ongoing manner. Responsible for transcribing minutes from both audio and written format. Ability to schedule meetings with multiple parties and calendar effectively. Filing, records management, and board meeting follow up also necessary.

Technical skills: Must be proficient at typing, using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as be trained on internal document retention and billing programs successfully upon hiring.

Experience/Education:




  • Minimum three years of administrative experience in office management and public administration or law firm representing public entities or special districts.



  • High school diploma, or equivalent required.



  • Paralegal certification a plus.





Skills/Knowledge:




  • Ability to multitask effectively, work in a team environment, be willing to assist co-workers in times of high work volume.



  • Possess a positive attitude, congenial demeanor and excellent customer skills.



  • Must be able to effectively communicate in a professional manner with clients and coworkers both verbally and in written form





Compensation Strategy:

Our approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth. We pay competitive wages and view compensation as an investment in our people. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range. These same factors may cause starting pay to be below or above the posted range. For Colorado, the posted range for this role is $45,000 - $65,000.
