Job Responsibilities:

The Manager, Board and House Matters position is primarily responsible for supporting the activities of the Board of Trustees, including the management of meetings and communications for the Board of Trustees. House of Delegates responsibilities include managing the comprehensive House of Delegates resolutions process and the finalization of materials (reports and resolutions) for the annual meeting. This position also supports the day-to-day activities of the Headquarters Office at annual session and assists in the review and processing of reference committee reports.

Must Have:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a high-level administrative support position, preferably working with a governing board or high-level executive, or 9 years' experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience working directly with executives, Boards, or similar
  • Demonstrated through previous work the ability to draft, edit and proofread large complex documents
  • Experience in generating a variety of correspondences and arranging meetings
  • Excellent written, verbal and organization skills
  • Proficiency with computer technology applications in order to maximize evolving technology
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Multi-tasking, project management, and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to work well under pressure and willingness to work in a team environment
  • Tact and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to interface with executive-level and volunteer leadership
  • Evening/Weekend work/meetings
  • Travel at least one week during the fall to attend annual meeting; at least five days mid-December/early-January to attend Board retreat; attend a minimum of six to seven weekend meetings a year; and possible Board meetings in DC


Nice to Have:



  • Knowledge of Financial Software (i.e. NetSuite and Concur)
  • Experience overseeing the work of others

  • Knowledge and proficiency in SharePoint



  • Event management or production experience useful
