5 years of experience needed. Requirement: Research administration experience - pre-/post-award for intra/extramurally funded awards. Preferred Specialty: High level UCPath/Oracle Payroll or graduate student program/fellowship coordination/training grant (T32) knowledge. Experience: Finance, Excel, Clerical/ Administration. Management. Skills: Attention to detail, analytical, organized, interpersonal communication, algebra, multitasking.

Intake Call Notes 4/6: Looking for all the below qualifications, but at a higher level who has done research administration for more years. They are hoping this person will eventually oversee lower level staff Open to having 100% remote as long as they can be trusted and hit the ground running Research Administrators, not accountants, not CPAs Manage research grants, proposal submissions, drafting budgets for research. They have doctors all throughout the program and the team does the research and apply for funding and manage the awards. Accounting for research funding specifically. Pre-award helping doctors submit proposal to receive the funding (not grant writers). Filling out the words, creating budgets, making sure guidelines are met. Post-award when funds get award then we manager the financials, stay within audit regulations

Job Duties The Senior Fund Manager will provide comprehensive analysis and manage all of the extramural grant fund functions for the assigned Department of Medicine Division.

Represent Research Faculty interests in all pre and post award areas. Contact funding agencies to clarify and bring to complete resolution on any issues, questions or concerns of Research Faculty. Coordinate research activities, agency reports, and special requests (i.e. re-budgeting; change of investigator effort) on behalf of Research Faculty. Compose, edit, and prepare written correspondence as requested by Research Faculty.

Assist Research Faculty in implementation of new and ongoing activities of research administration including identification of problems and providing operational solutions. Assist Research Faculty in meeting timelines required by funding agencies.

Provide Division Administrator with expertise and management to facilitate completion of research administration assignments. Manage the preparation of grant proposals and budgets. Manage grant application submission process. Serve as divisional representative in all divisional, departmental, and campus contract and grant funding meetings. Provide financial analysis and long-range planning for all awards, to include faculty salaries, staff salaries, and related expenses.

Oversee operations of post-award activation and administration. Review and recommend new administrative organizational policies and procedures to improve awards administration and overdraft minimization. Develop systemized accounting operations for division. Provide pro-active management to maintain accurate financial functioning and avoid overdrafts on Division controlled funds. Oversee the prompt resolution of financial management issues within the Division.

Qualifications Demonstrated experience as an effective team leader and supervisor, including staff selection, training, work review, evaluation, and discipline. Strong knowledge of financial and accounting concepts. High level of ethics, integrity, discretion and confidentiality. Strong interpersonal skills, service orientation, ability to multi-task effectively in a varied, highvolume environment, judgment and decision-making, reasoning, ability to develop original ideas to solve problems, and effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, to meet the programmatic and financial needs of PIs and the department, while complying with University and funding agency policies and regulations. Analytical skills to assess financial information, define problems, formulate logical solutions, develop alternative solutions, make recommendations, and initiate corrective actions. Close attention to detail to ensure accuracy in a fast-paced, fluctuating workload environment. Organization skills to create and maintain administrative and financial files effectively as well as independently balance the various tasks to ensure deadlines are met. Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software, especially Excel and PowerPoint, to perform daily tasks efficiently and accurately. Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize job functions to meet deadlines and ensure smooth workflow, and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with multiple proposal submission systems. Mathematical skills for the preparation of complex calculations and forecasts and to identify and resolve complicated financial scenarios. Knowledge of and experience working with a variety of external sponsors: federal and state sponsors, private foundations, industry sponsors, etc. Working knowledge of various financial concepts, research administration policies and procedures, and contract and grant funding agency guidelines.
