Description

When you join our team in Newbury Park, you'll join a uniquely collaborative, multi-discipline engineering community who support each other working across our domestic design centers creating cutting edge products for global markets. You'll be paired with a mentor to help support you as an integral part of a team responsible for designing custom parts. Skyworks is one of the most cutting edge and impactful players helping people connect across the globe.

The successful candidate will be part of a multi-discipline team developing PA, RF switches, front-end modules for the high-volume productions. Candidates will have opportunities to participate and lead in all phases of product development, including product definition, architecture, system, transistor-level circuit design, MCM design, filter/switch integration, layout supervision, lab debug and production support. The candidate will face challenging performance parameters in the design of front-end modules and work with various teams to launch products to the fast paced and competitive wireless handset market.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills



  • Master's Degree of Electrical Engineering and 10+ direct experience in RFFE development.
  • Good understanding of RF systems and familiarity with cellular standards.
  • Experience and familiarity with wireless transceiver architectures, system requirements, standards, receiver and transmitter chains.
  • Direct experience in PA, RF switches design or multi-chip module (MCM) design including filter and matching networks to support fully integrated front-end module designs.
  • Good understanding of various power amplifier topologies, linearity and efficiency enhancement techniques, active biasing and broadband techniques is essential.
  • Solid understanding of RF concepts such as impedance matching, impedance transformation, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth and stability.
  • Solid understanding of device and process technologies, such as Si, GaAs, SOI, SAW/BAW, etc.
  • Strong integrated circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/Cadence with 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum or HFSS.
  • Experience and familiarity with testing, evaluation and debugging RF, analog IC and MCM designs in a lab environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Loadpull, Signal Generator, Probing Station, etc.
  • Self-driven with a high level of engineering organization and integrity that is willing to take a project from concept to high volume production.
  • Strong leadership and able to mentor junior engineers and technicians. A self-starter and team player.
  • Good communications skills and able to present results to executive/marketing teams.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$126,500 -$241,700 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
