Posting Summary
The primary purpose of this position will be to carry out bioinformatic and computational analysis to identify genes associated with the risk of complex genetic diseases, using high-throughput seuqenicng data. The candidate will be responsible to utilize current computational pipelines and develop novel computational tools to identify candidate disease-causal genes in different disease cohorts. A variety of data set from different projects will be analyzed, such as whole-genome sequencing, whole exome sequencing, and transcriptome data.

Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D. in genetics, bioinformatics, molecular biology or related fields. At least 1 year of working experience in Genomics research fields. Strong background in programming and working knowledge with statistical techniques and software.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in genetics, bioinformatics, molecular biology or related fields. At least 1 year of working experience in Genomics research fields.Strong background in programming (perl/python/C++ or similar) and working knowledge with statistical techniques and software (Matlab/R or similar). Experience with database programming (Oracle/MySQL) and analysis of high-throughput genomic data.
Equipment Utilized
Working knowledge with Linux system and high-performance scientific computing clusters.

Overview
1. Design project and experiments. A candidate should be independent in designing research. Paper submission is expected in one year.
2. Perform experiments on the person's own with minimum supervision: It is expected that there is data outcome on a weekly basis.
3. Write manuscripts: being able to write initial drafts and organize figures. Be able to work under the PI's supervision to re-write manuscripts as suggested in a timely manner.
4. Supervise undergraduate and graduate students: teach them initially and help later when needed. Design experiments for them and train them as needed.
