JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Berks is hiring part-time temporary summer camp assistants. Individuals over 18 years of age are invited to apply as a camp assistant for week long camps for middle and high school students. Responsibilities include camp set up/clean up, assisting instructors and students with projects, supervising student at breaks and lunch times, and promoting a fun environment daily. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, be able to lift and carry equipment and materials as needed, and enjoy working with children. The assistant will be expected to help maintain a sanitary physical environment in their specific area of use. Candidates must participate in the Mandated Reporter Training (1 hour) and provide clearances from the PA State Police, Dept. of Human Service Child Abuse, and FBI finger print. Camps are enrollment driven and may be canceled with minimal notice. CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS: Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
