JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The College of Arts and Architecture, Office of Academic Affairs and Outreach is seeking to hire students to serve as Tour Guides in support of enrollment services initiatives of the College.Our mission is to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and positive experience to prospective students and their families while introducing them to the academic programs in the college and showcasing our facilities on campus. Students will work in person (University Park campus only), and by assigned hours as prospect visits, tours and/or recruitment related events are scheduled. Tour Guides may work individually or as a team based on the number of visits scheduled, the size of the group visiting and the nature of the visit. Guides will be asked to engage with high school and college-aged students, their parents, and families, sharing their undergraduate experiences and answering questions about life as a Penn State student. They will work with designated staff members to set schedules each week based on visit bookings and recruitment-related activity. Students who are enrolled in a major or minor in the College of Arts & Architecture are preferred but it is not required. Desired qualifications include good time management, accountability, outgoing personality, strong verbal communications, ability to think on your feet, an interest in learning about the college and creating a community of belonging for all A&A students, families, and friends. This job requires the following 3 publicly available clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, FBI Criminal Background Check.
