JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Campus Recreation is seeking qualified Penn State students to serve as Tennis Instructors, offering both individual and group tennis instruction. Instructors are expected to conduct classes in an engaging, safe and effective manner, providing an encouraging and motivating atmosphere while helping participants achieve objectives.

Instructors must display excellent customer service, decision-making and communication skills. Ability to follow instructions and attend all mandatory trainings/meetings is required. Applicants must have prior tennis experience to be considered.

Ideal candidates will play above a UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) level 4 level and have varsity high school experience.

Campus Recreation is a department within Student Affairs that provides fitness, wellness, and recreational programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the new expanded and renovated 200,000 square feet Intramural Building, the McCoy Natatorium, the 700-acre Stone Valley Outdoor Recreation Area, a Tennis Center including six clay courts and four indoor courts, the White Building, Outdoor Adventures, Aquatics, Club Sports, Fitness and Wellness Programs, and Intramural Sports.
