Parker is seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer for our growing electronic refrigeration business. This person is responsible for field programming, installation, and training for electronics, and coordinates technical issues with internal and external customers. These activities may include but are not limited to specifying products, processing product repairs, and troubleshooting existing product installations. This person interacts with manufacturing, engineering, accounting, and customer service personnel, as well as the members of the technical support and technical services departments. This position can be a remote position or in our HQ in Washington MO

Scope/Supervision and Interaction: Does Not Have Direct Reports

* Ability to program and start up refrigeration HVAC and building automation systems and controls.

* Specifies proper product for customer applications in response to direct customer contact or indirect customer contact through a Territory Manager or Customer Service Representative.

* Coordinates product return for service or credit.

* Assists customers with troubleshooting of nonperformance installed product.

* Liaisons with Service Department to authorize warranty repairs, solicit customer purchase orders for non-warranty repairs and inform customers of installation issues which need to be rectified for proper operation of the product.

* Liaisons with Manufacturing and Engineering Departments on matters regarding product performance, product design and product quality. Participates regularly on Customer Concerns and Satisfaction team. Provides input in new product design and development.

* Supports Accounting Department in confirming disposition of credit for returned product.

* Supports Customer Service Department in technical matters beyond the scope of the Customer Service Representative function.

* Assists in the training of new Territory Managers, new Customer Service Representatives, and new Field Service personnel.

Qualifications

* Minimum five (5) years of experience in commercial / retail refrigeration systems service / installation.

* Hands-on experience with Micro Thermo Controls and Sporlan S3C is preferred.

* Good organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills (written and oral).

* Good telephone manner.

* Technical aptitude and experience for mechanical and chemical applications.

* Willing to accept up to 50% travel for customer visits, training and for personal development opportunities. Peek traveling usually occurs between August and October.

* Willing to work after hours for emergency customer issues (provide short term assistance and information to on-call technicians).

* Working knowledge of general Sales, Marketing, and Business.

* Influence on decision-making process.

* Ability to read a technical drawing.
