Job Description

Parks, Recreation, Sport, and Tourism has ongoing needs for Adjunct Faculty to teach in our sport emphasis. Specifically, we are seeking a qualified applicant to teach PRST 2080, Global Sports Environments for the Fall of 2024. It is a standard three credit lecture course scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 2:00pm. This course covers the organization and management of domestic and international sport, including the Olympic movement and examination of the globalization of U.S. professional sports.

Adjunct Faculty are responsible for developing and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes. They are required to plan and present the material assigned for their courses, establish specific requirements, and inform students of the requirements; grade examinations and papers; submitting grades in a timely fashion; and explaining grades to students. Adjunct Faculty are expected to interact electronically with students outside the classroom and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.

Qualifications

College teaching experience.

Experience in interscholastic or intercollegiate athletic administration .

Professional experience working in the sport industry.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Commensurate with Experience, education level and enrollment.

One semester, part-time adjunct, temporary position.
