Hand Solderer - Electro Mechanical Assembler

The ideal candidate will have hand soldering experience and can
perform light electronic and/or electromechanical assembly work for
Radiofrequency switches, pushbutton switches, and similar assemblies. J-STD certification preferred.

Job Summary

  • Assembly procedures may involve soldering where access is somewhat difficult.
  • Assembly of various detail parts into semi-complex assemblies using various assembly techniques.
  • Must be able to assemble parts using different types of tooling to achieve desired results.
  • Must be able to interpret instructions to mix various epoxies and paints for marking/bonding.
  • Able to work with working parts or components which require special care in handling or other procedures which require good dexterity and facility in use of a variety of hand tools.
  • Work is not typically highly repetitive, but the cycle of repetition may be short enough to allow the development of some habit patterns.
  • Must be able to work with assembly equipment such as arbor presses, pneumatic presses, ultrasonic welders, etc.
  • Must be able to work from wiring diagrams, detailed drawings, standard work instructions (SWIs), or other input documents of similar complexity.
  • May make minor procedural decisions in soldering, fitting, etc., but always within established guidelines.
  • Perform other assignments as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Should have familiarity in reading and interpreting documents such as blue prints or mechanical drawings
  • Must be able to work under a 10X microscope
  • Basic knowledge of the types of Electronic Components is a must.
  • Ability to build electronic assemblies

Required Experience and Education

  • Vocational, High School diploma, or general education degree (GED); or 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior solder and assembly experience. (5+ years preferred)
  • Experience with RF switches is highly preferred.
  • Experience with pushbutton switches is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years progressive experience in quality management with supervisory experience, including military, where applicable, and commercial customers

This is a generic job posting for an Electromechanical Assembler. Depending on the candidate's skills, qualifications and experience, they will be hired into an entry (I) level, intermediate (II) level or expert (III) level job and pay scale.

Base Compensation: USD 23.00 - 28.00
