The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) brings a synergy between the best medical education, research and patient care. Tomorrow's discoveries happen right here alongside the very people who bring those lessons to our students. Every bit of knowledge, and every advancement, provides our students with an unprecedented, collaborative learning environment, and helps improve the vitality and care of our communities. The VP of Facilities and Operations is a crucial role providing direction and strategic leadership to the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) across the four missions: research, clinical care, education and community. The leader will direct and oversee all facilities and campus operational activities of MCW including Facilities Engineering and Maintenance, Planning, Design and Construction, Public Safety, and Environmental Health and Safety to maintain a safe, productive, and efficient environment for all stakeholders of MCW. The team is comprised of approximately 70 employees plus partner personnel. MCW's space is comprised of nearly 50 acres of owned land and almost 2 million square feet of space spanning office, wet lab, outpatient clinical, and other types of space inclusive of owned and leased space. MCW has two regional campuses (Central Wisconsin and Green Bay), several joint venture buildings, leased building and a host of leased spaces across Wisconsin. The VP works collaboratively with project executives in planning and execution of building projects and major renovations as well as ensuring excellence of facilities operations. The leader engages key stakeholders across the missions to drive strategic planning, contract negotiations, progress and performance, and oversight of a multitude of vendors/service providers. MCW, Froedtert Health, Children's Wisconsin and Versiti jointly oversee the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center (MRMC). The MRMC is a joint enterprise that operates and provides shared infrastructure to all members of the campus. The VP will represent MCW on the MRMC to set a long-term strategy for the campus and ensure cost-effective services are provided to all members of the campus. Additionally, MCW collaborates with the MRMC members on specific facilities projects. As part of this, the leader works directly with counterparts at the other organizations to provide strategic leadership and operational execution for the space/facilities shared between the MCW and the other organization(s). The leader will have responsibility for an operating budget of $25-30M plus construction, renovation and capital budgets. Responsibilities
