This position is part of the Space Systems Development (SSD) business unit. SSD develops next-generation concepts and systems to advance our future of living and working in space sustainably.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the senior technician with the installation, maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Learning and assisting in troubleshooting technical issues on laboratory equipment under the guidance of senior technician.
  • Support in the assembly and testing of new equipment under the direction of senior technicians and engineers.
  • Replenishing inventory of laboratory consumables.
  • Collection and disposal of chemical waste.
  • Supporting senior technicians in implementing equipment maintenance schedules and protocols.
  • Assisting in documenting equipment maintenance and calibration records.
  • Receiving training/mentorship from senior technicians.
  • Contributing to creating a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion within the Agile Hardware Development team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5+ years of laboratory experience.
  • Proficient in performing preventative maintenance schedules and basic equipment calibration.
  • Proficient in performing basic repairs and maintenance of facility infrastructure (electrical, plumbing) to guarantee smooth lab operations.
  • Proficient in providing general support in tasks such as lab equipment and furniture relocations, build-up of equipment and lab infrastructure, and equipment repairs.
  • Proficient in assembling erector set framing structures.
  • Proficient in performing forklift operations.
  • General basic fabrication knowledge.
  • Physical capability to move heavy equipment up to 40 lbs. as necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on team collaboration.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. in a relevant field.
  • Preferred experience in industrial controls (PLCs), pneumatics/hydraulics, cooling loops, heating systems, and basic electricals.
  • Demonstrated experience with large vacuum chambers for integrated testing.
  • Demonstrated experience with analytical equipment, such as SEM, XRD, XRF, GC-MS, etc.
  • Robust knowledge of industrial systems and controls

Compensation Range for:

CA applicants is $35.52-$49.73
