Summary

The Procedure Center at the Anschutz Campus is a 9 room unit that treats children and adolescents for a wide range of conditions. The unit supports 18 different surgical and medical specialties and performs more than 6,600 cases a year. We are a unique, yet impressive team comprised of bachelor's prepared nurses, certified surgical technicians, dental assistants, anesthesia technicians, anesthesia providers, advanced practice providers, physicians, and surgeons. The staff in the Procedure Center are proud to provide safe quality of care to our patients. We perform a wide variety of procedures including gastrointestinal procedures, dental procedures, burn procedures, eye procedures, gynecologic procedures, dermatologic procedures, neurology procedures, and many other types of procedures. Our nurses and surgical technologists receive extensive training and education in all procedures, promoting communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. We promote continued education and encourage staff to pursue certifications. Department Name: Procedure Center
Job Status: flex (as needed), not eligible for benefits
Shift: up to two-three shifts per week, as needed, based on unit needs, with the understanding, per policy, that flex staff are sent home first. Hours will vary between 0700 and 1730. No on call requirements.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
EXPERIENCE - One (1) year of nursing experience. Prefer candidates with at least three years of nursing experience. Previous Procedure Center and/or Operating Room Nurse experience strongly preferred.
EQUIVALENCY- Applicants with an Associate's Degree in Nursing and who agree to obtain a BSN within three (3) years from their start/hire date may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master's Entry to Practice Nursing (MEPN) may substitute for a BSN.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S) - Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or RN license from multistate compact; BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least six (6) months left before expiration is required upon hire.

Salary Information
Hourly Rate of Pay: $45.40
