SENIOR PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT

Currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our dynamic team and contribute to their continued success.

The Senior Property Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our multifamily properties. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in property accounting and a deep understanding of real estate financial practices. The successful candidate will oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide strategic financial insights to support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of property accounting for a portfolio of multifamily properties.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for budget discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
  • Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with the annual budget preparation and forecasting process.
  • Coordinate with property managers to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Stay current with industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of property accounting experience, preferably in the multifamily real estate industry.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in property management software (e.g., Yardi, RealPage) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
