Job Summary:

The Specialist - Pipeline Scheduler is responsible for managing the scheduling of refined products on Energy Transfer Pipelines. This role ensures seamless operations and effective communication with stakeholders, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our pipeline activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage the scheduling of refined products on Energy Transfer Refined Product Pipelines to ensure timely and efficient delivery.


  • Monitor pipeline capacity, flow rates, and product inventory levels to prevent bottlenecks and ensure timely deliveries.


  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including shippers, suppliers, and terminal operators, to ensure seamless product flow.


  • Work closely with shippers, operation coordinators, pipeline controllers, engineers, and field personnel to manage pipeline activities affecting product movement.


  • Communicate system capabilities and deficiencies monthly to relevant groups.


  • Provide analytical support to Business Development and other departments to drive continuous improvement and business growth.


  • Demonstrate ability to work and negotiate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be on call 24/7 to address urgent scheduling issues and pipeline interruptions promptly.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:


  • 2-5 years of equivalent work experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.


  • Strong understanding of refined products, pipeline operations, and scheduling processes.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer focus and good interpersonal skills.


  • Strong understanding of refined products, pipeline operations, and scheduling processes.


  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.


  • Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


  • Must be highly adaptable to changes due to pipeline interruptions or refinery changes.


  • Demonstrate good customer service skills and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous experience with refined products pipeline operations and scheduling.


  • Understanding of Transport 4 systems.


  • Exposure to one or more energy markets (refined petroleum products).


  • Strong background in data analysis and the ability to generate actionable insights for continuous improvement.

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.


  • Usually, normal office working conditions.


  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.


  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.


  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
