Supervisor: Preschool Director/Corps Officer

FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT, Full time

Corps/Unit Mission Statement: Preschool Statement:

The Ohana Keiki Preschool is dedicated to providing children a safe environment where they can grow socially, mentally, physically and spiritually.

JOB SUMMARY: The Teacher shall be a positive role model towards the development of all children in the group with presenting individual and age appropriate activities. The Teacher shall guide the children in developing Physically, Socially, Emotionally and Intellectually.

This is a Full-Time Position that requires 40 hours per week.

Qualification Requirements:

Valid Driver's License Early Childhood Education Training

Current Physical & TB Clearance High School Diploma or Higher

CPR & First Aid Certification Card - Infant/Toddler

Current Finger Print & Criminal History Background Check

PATCH Registry Certificate Minimum CDA Certification

All requirements shall be kept updated.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Prepare lesson plans and participate actively in planning unit studies according to age groups. Recognize appropriate activities as well as individual needs.
  • Participate in creating a safe environment for all to enjoy, along with keeping the environment organized and appropriate for daycare activities.
  • Keep written records of developmental growth of each child in the group setting or classroom you are assigned to.
  • Record all physical accidents in a teacher logbook or accident report binder.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and participate with quality growth of the center. Informing the Aide/Assistant all decisions, planned activities, etc. discussed
  • Conduct conferences with parents informally as well as formally, keeping open communication with family members.
  • Participate in workshops and training sessions when available, for personal growth in Early Childhood Education.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Head Teacher, Director, or Officer of the Salvation Army.
  • Communicate any concerns with Head Teacher and Director.
  • Display awareness of the mission of the Salvation Army to the public in a positive manner at all times.



OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Performs other duties as assigned.

Able to lift up to 40lbs.

SKILLS/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:



  • Valid Hawaii driver's license (if needed)
  • Prioritize multiple work tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Travel off-island as necessary (if needed)


EQUIPMENT NEEDS:

Use office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, scanners, calculators, etc.
