Summary: This closely-supervised position is a general labor position that will involve pipeline maintenance activities. This description should not be construed to contain every function/responsibility that may be required to be performed by an incumbent in this position. - Performs all job functions safely while complying with safety rules, procedures and policies.
- Performs pipeline right-of-way activities, such as pipeline locates, responding to State One Call notifications, reading pipeline alignment sheets, and communicating with landowners, contractors and other agencies.
- Performs routine facility inspections, housekeeping, and equipment maintenance.
- Assists pipeline specialist and maintenance crews on local projects
- Operates and maintains light duty vehicles, hand tools and power equipment.
- Supports pipeline activities as described in the standard operation manual.
- Assists in emergency response activities as required.
- Uses computers and windows based applications required to accomplish day-to-day activities, i.e. e-mail, spreadsheets, and other document processing as needed.
- Maintains communications via both voice and electronic transmissions with off site pipeline companies, oil spill vendors, NuStar field locations, Customers and vendors.
- Participates in and successfully complete all required personal training, including written and computer-based testing to validate competency and be able to successfully pass random DOT drug screens

- Able to accommodate overnight travel
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license
- Pass DOT physical and background check
- Possess ability and desire to grow with the position
- Ability to operate facility systems including computer systems, calculators, radios, cellular phones, and GPS Units
- Familiarity with Fuel sampling and measurement hardware including gauging hardware, thermometers, and hydrometers. Hand tools including wrenches, screwdriver, saws, cutters, sand blasters, hammers, pliers, shovels, painting hardwSaveare. Line locator equipment; operate 4x4 mule or other off road vehicles
- Familiarity with explosion meter, oxygen meter, toxic gas tester, personal floatation device, and respirator

- Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.

- Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment. - Occasional overnight travel may be required
