Refrigeration Mechanic

Responsibilities

This position will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of process plant and pipeline equipment.

  • Maintain all industrial process refrigeration equipment
  • Maintain maintenance records on all equipment such as records of routine preventative maintenance, record of major repair work, record of availability of all equipment
  • Secure and maintain warehouse spare parts for continuous operation of all refrigeration equipment
  • Prepare job scopes and coordinate contract personnel
  • Work with Environmental Department for compliance with Stratospheric Ozone regulations and permits
  • Work with Reliability Team to ensure dependability and continuous operation of process units
  • Work directly with Process Foreman to coordinate and ensure prompt and efficient resolution of process issues
  • Work with Safety Department to identify and resolve Safety Hazards
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, operating and maintenance procedures and company policies
  • Coordinate with Contractors and vendors for needed parts, supplies and equipment

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Technical Schooling is helpful
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, preferably with 5 - 7 years of comprehensive mechanical experience; Frick and GEA Refrigerant Compressors
  • Willing to be on call rotation with other mechanics
  • Working knowledge of the proper alignment procedures and techniques of Refrigerant equipment
  • Valid driver license and good driving record is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform necessary duties with minimal supervision
  • Basic PC computer skills and trainable to custom software application
  • Capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs
  • Capable of vigorous outdoor activities and have manual dexterity with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, walking on catwalks, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions, driving a vehicle, operation of forklifts and light industrial equipment
