The Day Leadership Academy (DLA), School of Hospitality at Metropolitan State University of Denver is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and meticulously organized assistant. By effectively implementing the DLA projects, the incumbent will spearhead the following key responsibilities:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The DLA Assistant is responsible for helping with various projects undertaken by the DLA and providing the DLA faculty coordinator with secondary work-related assistance as needed. Some tasks are ongoing; others occur periodically throughout the school year. DLA Assistant has primary responsibility for a major project, which may be one or more of the following:

  • Assist in the monitoring of DLA programs and services

  • Help with data collection and data entry as needed

  • Assist with the creation, coordination, and dissemination of office outreach and communication efforts as needed

  • Network with hospitality and tourism organizations to solidify the relationship with DLA

  • Monitors details of events such as executive seminars/series and conferences

  • Monitor course/program timelines and ensure deadlines are met

  • Participates in all efforts towards marketing and sales of DLA courses/programs

  • Send out invitations/newsletters and manage RSVP/registration list

  • Monitor logistics, including registration and attendee tracking, presentation and materials support, and pre- and post-course/program evaluations

  • Assist the DLA faculty coordinator and other DLA project leaders with other duties as assigned

In addition, the DLA Assistant is expected to assist with office duties, such as answering telephones and taking complete phone messages, making photocopies, scheduling appointments, and assisting the DLA faculty coordinator and DLA project leaders as needed.

Terms of Employment:

The position is 19 hours per week.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or working toward a Bachelor's degree, in hospitality, marketing, communication, or a related field

  • Demonstrated organizational prowess and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Reliable transportation throughout the Denver Metro area, including locations with limited transit service.

  • Track record of providing exceptional customer service and adeptness in engaging diverse stakeholders.

Salary for Announcement

The salary for this position is $21.50 per hour.

*This position is not benefits eligible and this position is required to contribute in a PERA retirement plan*
