Cool Before/After School Instructor

Specific Job Responsibilities:

1. Participate in pre-season staff orientation/training program.
2. Organize and lead activities at school site. Leaders are expected to be actively involved with all registered students that wish to participate.
3. Develop and implement curriculum that provides fun, creative and safe programs for participants.
4. Prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.
5. Enforce rules and regulations of program.
6. Leaders are responsible for the program facility and all equipment i.e. balls, jump ropes, bats, etc. belonging to WPRF.
7. Ensure timely rotation of Enrichment Bins.
8. Implement special events and themed activities at afterschool site.
9. Complete all reports in a timely fashion, i.e. daily attendance, permission slips, requisition forms and time cards.
10. Provide first aid as needed and complete appropriate accident report.
11. Emphasize and model good sportsmanship in sports, games, and other activities.
12. Attend staff meetings.
13. Dress appropriately when on duty.
14. Assist in supervising program volunteers.
15. Follow all City of Waukesha employee work rules.
16. Return all keys, paperwork and required equipment at the end of the program.
17. Maintain good communication with WPRF, principal, other instructors, and parents.

Qualifications:

1. Prior experience working with students desirable
2. Proficiency in the following skills: Leadership, Decision-Making, Planning, Organization and Communication
3. Ability to lead, plan, organize and implement program activities.
4. Desire to work in a team environment with the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.
5. Enthusiastic personality and willingness to adapt to unforeseen circumstances.
